Seresto Collar Safety
Seresto collars are an EPA regulated product that provides protection against fleas and ticks for up to eight months. In early March, 2021, USA Today released an article claiming a link between Seresto flea and tick collars and adverse events in pets. These adverse events are wide ranging including claims of death. There is, however, no established causality between exposure to the active ingredients in Seresto and death and there have been no recalls put into effect. Simply stated, a number of pets have became seriously ill or died in the eight months following Seresto application, but there is no established link that the collar caused these illnesses or deaths. We will continue to monitor the situation as more information becomes available.
