Animal Behavior, Spring Allergies, and PET Scanners with Dr. Wayne Hunthausen DVM

An uncharacteristically mild winter has led to an unusually warm spring. You probably packed up your winter coat early and started wearing sandals sometime last month. But even if you are loving this change in weather, there are some downsides … especially for your furry friends. Insect populations are up, which means Fido’s risk of disease is up, too.
Tuesday on Up to Date, veterinarian and animal behavior expert Dr. Wayne Hunthausen is back with us to answer all your pet health questions.
Plus, we’ll look at some technology that’s helping Missouri animal experts better diagnose cancer. The state-of-the-art equipment is the only veterinary PET scanner in the state and one of only a handful in the country. Dr. Jeff Bryan of the Veterinary Oncology Program at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine tells us about using a positron emission tomography (PET) scanner on animals.
